Top 20 Field Service Management Software Solutions

Top 20 Field Service Management Software infographic

The new Top 20 Field Service Management Software infographic from Capterra continues their series of “Top 20 Most Popular” infographics for different software categories.  I’ve previously posted about the Top 20 Marketing Automation Software Solutions and the Top 20 Medical Records Software Solutions.

This design shows a little more detail behind how they score and rank the different software options.

Field Service Management software serves companies that send technicians or other employees into the field by helping them automate scheduling and dispatching. Below is a look at the most popular options as measured by a combination of their total number of clients, active users and online presence. In order to see a comprehensive list, please visit our Field Service Management Software Directory.

Capterra developed a popularity index consisting of three components to rank the field service management providers: number of customers (40%), number of end users (40%), and online presence (20%). The online presence metrics included traffic estimates from Compete.com, as well as the company’s number of LinkedIn followers, Facebook page likes, Twitter followers, and Klout scores – each weighted equally to comprise 20% of the vendor’s overall score.

The stacked bars to showing the three separate score metrics works nicely, and is a clear visual of the descending total scores.  The Rank numbers are in colored boxes that match the primary brand colors of each software company, but the readers don’t know that.  Without seeing the actual company logos, the colors just look random and create some unnecessary visual noise.

By not showing the company logos throughout the design, it’s harder for the reader to see where a particular company appears in the different sections.  A visual logo would be easy to recognize at a glance, but in just text, the reader has to read every entry to try to find a match.

Nice, clear Call-To-Action at the end of the design, so the target audience readers know what they should with this information.  The footer should also include a copyright statement and the URL link to the infographic landing page on Capterra’s site so readers can find the original, full-size version.

I believe this info-graphic does a good job at listing the top player - and probably the oldest player - in the field Service Management area.

The beauty of our modern days is that there's plenty of feature-full and affordable solution out there on the market...most of them not being list here.

I imagine that a more accurate info-graphic will probably provide more details such as :
- list of features
- customer satisfaction and retention rate
- 12 months growth rate

Having a responsible and transparent way to keep field service staff accountable without abusing their privacy is the key to making sure that performance can be mapped, Quality mobile device based gps tracking applications such as TrackAss www.trackass.com are providing excellent business grade telematic tracking for businesses wanting to responsibly track field service personnel without huge expense or fixed equipment costs. Fleet vehicle tracking and employee tracking can be achieved in real time whilst still maintaining a high level of personal privacy for employees, to turbo charge your HR and customer service what can be better than being with an employee whilst the complete their daily activity?

Since many of these companies are private and closely held, how did you determine the number of customers and users?

Mhelpdesk is very proud to have made this list. We definitely value all of our customers and we listen to their feedback very seriously. Field service software is starting to become a necessary tool for running a service business. It's no longer acceptable to manage work orders, scheduling, and invoices using pen and paper.

If anyone has any questions or wants to see our software in action, feel free to check us out at www.mhelpdesk.com or call us at 888-558-6275.

Great information in the infographic, Randy. Very impressive! Looks like the main source was Capterra? I love that site! I rely on it to keep my in-sync with new products/services.

I know there are a few field service management applications that have come out in the past few years that are great additions to the 20 listed above. My company discovered EasyData // http://easydata.me // and have been very impressed so far.

You may have heard this term tossed around quite a bit recently, but what is Service Management Software? It’s all in the name, folks: Service Management. Service Management Software (SMS) is a program designed to monitor and manage various business services. – See more at: http://www.softwaredevelopersindia.com/blog/bizitalk-what-is-a-service-management-software/

The list is old and does not include the great product like Field Force Tracker (http;//www.fieldforcetracker.com). Field Force Tracker is much better than most of the above products and has great list of features.

If you are a mid-size company and looking for a real good product, check it out Field Force Tracker. Field force tracker includes advance features such as scheduling, calendar, timesheets, invoice, estiimates, inventory management, service history etc.

Most importantly, it is price very competitively.

Interesting infographic, however I strongly feel you need to update the metrics and include more disruptive technologies in the arena of Field Service Management. Big players like salesforce and LogiNext are missing from the list. I would strongly recommend checking LogiNext's product portfolio. A prominent SaaS based logistics, field workforce/service management provider.

It is a good list but is not new. I want to suggest new Employee Tracking Software "Maargah". I provides several features like geo tracking, time logging etc. I am also using Maargah in my organisation and it reduces my burden of management. It is providing 1 MOTH FREE TRIAL. It is also available on playstore and appstore. Try it once. Here is the link :
